Dave was coming off of a deadlifting session last night and had a bit of trouble with the truck, so I didn't post his pulls, but did damn well given his workout the day before.

Wow, I have neglected the site way too long! Have actually been training quite a bit and really working towards getting my numbers to a respectable level. Slow and steady she goes.

04/20/2006 - Eldersburg Gazette Article

A local paper, The Gazette, ran a very good article (if I do say so myself) about me today. The reporter, Ms. Champion, stopped by and talked to my wife and me in the park last week, interviewed both of us, and her photographer took quite a few pictures. Although I was really hoping a particular picture would have been used (I am able to get the one they did), it is very nice, and a front page spot. Ms. Champion did quite a bit of research about the games, and did a very nice job explaining all the events. However, she slightly mischaracterized the hammer. For those who don't know, we generally only throw one of the hammers in any given game and we get three throws total. Sometimes we throw both hammers or just the 16# hammer, but we still get three throws with each. Thanks again for stopping by Ms. Champion. I really enjoyed talking to you and thought the article was great!

04/09/2006 - New Section added: Videos!

A new section of the website is now available featuring training videos. These are in no way meant to show you the *best* way to throw, but rather to create a video diary of sorts for myself. Until my license runs out, I am using the Dartfish software to do the editing. Feel free to check the videos out in the video section.

04/08/2006 - Checking in

Wow, it has been a while since I have updated the site. Lots of happenings in the last month. On the 25th, I competed with the North team at the North/South Challenge in Sumter, SC. Was a great games, and the North held on for the overall title. I threw consistently all day and managed to take the overall individual title as well. Was very pleased with the start of the season so far. Although I hit no huge numbers, I was able to turn the caber. This caber was 130lbs and 20' long, so it is definitely the biggest caber I have turned. If Lannie hooks me up with some pictures from the games, I will post them here.

North Team

On the 28th, I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed. All four were bony impacted. This was not fun, and I am just now getting back to a somewhat normal schedule. I missed a week of work, and I haven't lifted or thrown since. Hell, I only started chewing my food again 3 days ago! But I feel like I am on track now, and plan on hitting the gym this afternoon and throwing later this week.

03/11/2006 - Second Day Out

Went out for a full training session today. Threw the stone, light weight, and the heavy hammer. Felt good, but back is sore. Details are in the blog.

03/01/2006 - First Day Out

Well, today was the first day out with the weights. I am sad to report that the 56lb weight did not get any lighter over the winter!!!!! Details are in the blog.

02/27/2006 - Hammer Blades

hammer blades

Got my new hammer blades this past weekend. They are sweet. My buddy Shane Hill makes these blades, and they are just incredible. The attention to detail he puts in to the blades is incredible. All the corners are rounded off, everything lines up perfectly, and made custom to order (the ones above have a 5 degree down slope). If you are in the market, give him a shout at: Bodiene30@aol.com .

02/26/2006 - Photo Album
